Save the Orang Utans!
Petition against palm oil - Borneo
The workers of the palm oil company Gunajaya Agro (BGA) have completely destroyed kilometerwide areas of rainforest on Borneo.
Helpless Orang-Utans are seen, among them pregnant females and motherswith children. Together with other protected animal species. All the animals on the plantation are endangered. The company has to stop the deforestation.
It's unbelievable, but BGA is a member at the seal for sustainable palm oil (RSPO). Customers of BGA are IOI, Wilmar and Sinas Mas, who sell the palm oil to foodproducing and biodiesel companies. Even the EU has acknowledged RSPO as a certificate for sustainably produced biofuel.
But can you tell me what's sustainable about the way they are doing things? There is nothing sustainable in turning a rain forest into a palm oil plantation. This insanity has to stop.
